In December 1995, a small group of dedicated animal lovers (Adele Lafleur, Nancy Maloney, Michael Weeks, Peter Finley) came together to form the SPCA Vancouver Hospital Trust Fund.

The initial purpose of the Trust was to support the needs of animals coming into the care of the BC SPCA’s Vancouver Hospital, including:

• Low cost spay and neuter services
• Medical care of stray animals waiting to be adopted or reunited with their guardians
• Subsidizing medical costs to assist guardians otherwise unable to provide veterinary care
• Education initiatives to promote awareness of responsible animal guardianship

The Trust Fund would later expand services beyond its initial mandate and now supports animals waiting to find their forever homes across all of British Columbia.

To date, the SPCA Vancouver Hospital Trust Fund has invested over $1,000,000 in veterinary care through the BC SPCA. This work would not be possible without the support of the Trust’s growing list of loyal donors.
